PREP COOK
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Cook
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist with the daily preparation of meals from menus that have been established by the Director of Food Services and to prepare meals in such a way that will make a positive contribution to the health and nutritional standards of Camp NEOSA.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Head Cook with all food preparation and serving.
- Plan with the Head Cook quantity estimates for menu selection and preparation.
- Ensure proper storage and temperature control off food items including walk in refrigerator and freezer.
- Coordinate with the Head Cook the daily work schedule for proper preparation and serving of food, as well as maintaining the kitchen area in a clean and orderly manner.
- To assist with the cleaning and care of the kitchen and all work equipment.
- To maintain safe work habits in accordance with all government regulations and to make certain that horseplay and foolishness do not take place in any area of the food service operation.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper operation of all kitchen appliances.
- Report any damaged or required equipment to the Head Cook.
- Be a positive and productive member of the camp staff including social relationships and care of camp property.
- To assist and share in other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Camp Director or his representative including the cleaning up of camp at the end of the summer.
