We are currently looking for General Counselors, Activity Counselors and Coaches for our various Sports, Water, Creative Arts, Performing Arts and Adventure areas. Many of our staff, from a variety of majors, have been able to gain internship credit through their school. We provide a great salary as well as housing, laundry and meals for the summer.

Overview: The camp counselor position is a valuable experience as you embark on your future career. Camp affords you the opportunity to join a large community of 450 campers ages 7-17 and 200 plus staff members from around the world. Camp is a fast-paced, highly intense, hands-on experience that builds your teamwork and leadership skills. You will have a direct impact on your camper’s lives forever.
Daily Responsibilities: Working at camp is not your typical job/internship. You are living and working at the same place in a community lifestyle for 8 weeks. Your primary role will be working with the campers as a counselor, living in a bunk with campers and other co-counselors. A counselor is always directly responsible for the safety of the campers they are supervising. You report directly to the Campus Leaders and together supervise the campers’ daily schedule and general life at camp. Depending on your skills and background, we may assign you to lead or assist with one of our sports or activities. Let us know if there are any areas you can contribute to! A typical day at Camp Lokanda is all fun, games and non-stop action. There are many special events and engaging evening activities.
Our General Counselors supervise their campers throughout the day at meals, daily activities, and in the bunks. General Counselors get to experience all of the activities that we have at camp, with your campers! We are looking for both male and female General Counselors to work with all of our age groups (from 7 years old up to 16 year olds).
Our Activity Counselors share their skills with campers who rotate through their activities. They also get involved with the campers in the bunks, at meal times, and at evening activities. Some of our activity areas include:
- Sports: Soccer, Flag Football, Golf, Basketball, Baseball, Roller Hockey, Lacrosse, Tennis, Gymnastics
- Water: Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, Boating, Waterskiing
- Creative Arts: Ceramics, Art, Woodshop, Cooking, STEM
- Performing Arts: Yoga, Dance, Music, Drama
- Adventure: High Ropes, Zip Line, Climbing Wall, Go-Karts
Dates: June 20, 2024 to August 15, 2024. Some activity staff come earlier for training.
