Camp Cook

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Help with initial planning of menus and set-up of kitchen.

2.         Train kitchen staff.

3.         Estimate needs and order foodstuffs and supplies on a timely basis.

4.         Supervise kitchen staff, cooking, cleanliness, and scheduling of personnel.

5.         Coordinate and help support special events, camp activities, and weekend food left for staff that may require special preparation or planning.

6.         Prepare menus, record quantities.

7.         Ensure that all aspects of kitchen are kept to health code standards at all times(including dining hall)

8.         Must obtain all necessary ServSafe certificates (paid for by camp)

8.         Evaluate current season and staff and make recommendations.

9.         These are not the only duties to be performed.  Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•     Minimum age of 25


•    Physically able to carry out all duties, lift moderately heavy objects, and work an extended schedule


•     Experience or willingness to learn as cook and/or assistant cook


•     Training and experience in cooking for large groups


•     Ability to work well with others


•     Knowledge of standards and procedures for food preparation and serving


• Salary- Starting at $1,200 a week- negotiable based on experience


•   Housing provided by camp if needed


•     Opportunity for children to attend camp if needed


•  Camp cook follows a Sunday-Friday schedule. Starting Sunday at 11 AM-Friday 7PM(hours may vary based on camps needs)
