Job Description
Job Summary: This seasonal position will work full or part time during the summer months, and casual/on-call during the rest of the year if desired. The Housekeeper assists with behind-the-scenes functions that help camp run smoothly, including, but not limited to: laundry, vacuuming, trash removal, supply restocking, and keeping all areas of camp cleaned and well-maintained

Principal Responsibilities
Be on time for scheduled shifts and in appropriate attire
Responsible for the cleaning and general upkeep of common areas, bathrooms, shower houses, retreat center and cabins including but not limited to: laundry, vacuuming/sweeping/mopping, trash removal, sanitizing, and supply restocking
Ensure that all cleaning and other tasks are done in accordance with all safety guidelines and to One Heartland standards and individual group’s needs
Complete tasks as assigned and in a timely manner
Be kind and courteous to all staff as well as to all participants, guests and groups; acts in a professional and friendly manner to ensure positive relations with participants, families, community, volunteers, visitors and staff
Other tasks as assigned and pitching in where needed without direct assignment
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Ideal Traits:
Compassionate and open-minded especially for the communities we serve at One Heartland
(LGBTQ+, HIV/AIDS, currently or formerly unhoused).
Understanding of how to complete cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, and laundry.
Self-motivated and good time management, able to work without direct supervision
Attention to detail and cleanliness
Ability to communicate and work well with others
Positive, outgoing, friendly demeanor
Valid driver’s license preferred

Physical Requirements:
Often exposed to crowds and high noise levels
Must be able to move about camp indoors and out
Must be able to lift and carry objects (~35 pounds), to crouch, kneel and squat
Work with chemical cleaners and sanitizers
Able to observe cleanliness of rooms and objects.
