Job Description
The Climbing Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Alpine Tower and all climbing apparatus at Camp River Glen. Applicants must either have belaying experience on an Alpine Tower or have outside experience supervising/belaying climbing or challenge course programs. Additional training may be required before the start of the season.

Join us at camp in the San Bernardino National Forest as our Alpine Supervisor.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Supervise the Alpine Tower & climbing wall when in use
  • Supervise and evaluate the Alpine staff
  • Work effectively with fellow Alpine specialists on a daily basis
  • Set up Alpine Tower & climbing wall for rotations when needed
  • Close Alpine Tower & climbing wall at the end of any use
  • Inspect Alpine Tower before and after each use & maintain equipment logs and report any issues
  • Climbing instruction to campers between the ages of 10 - 17 with different ability levels
  • Assist in the kitchen during meal service
  • Assist in the kitchen during the end of day clean-up
  • Assist in emergency situations
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Pay: $110-$120 depending on experience.

Dates: This summer we have six scheduled sessions of camp but may add weekend events as we get closer to summer.

  • Session 2 - July 12 - 17
  • Session 3 - July 18 - 24
  • Session 4 - July 25 - 31
  • Session 5 - August 1 - 7
  • Session 6 - August 8 - 14

Job Requirements
MUST either have belaying experience on an Alpine Tower or have outside experience supervising/belaying climbing or challenge course programs
Able to work outside, upright and mobile for six to eight hours a day
Posses physical capacity to fulfill all essential job functions
Additional training may be required before the start of the season.
Be able to pass a background check
Experience working with youth and being outdoors strongly preferred
Willingness to get the COVID-19 vaccine
