Job Description

There are lots of places you could choose to spend your summer. So, why choose Camp Lakota? What makes us so special? The PEOPLE! Beyond our great facilities and location is the quality of the people who spend their summers here. This includes our campers, of course, and our exceptional staff. Counselors must come to Lakota with a true love of children, a high level of patience and a solid work ethic. Working with kids is one of the greatest experiences in the world and comes with tremendous rewards. Working at Lakota can give you a great feeling of satisfaction as you help kids grow, but this comes only with a lot of hard work.

A counselor is responsible for the health, hygiene, and safety of the campers in his/her bunk. Cleanliness and neatness are the responsibility of the counselor. Through your example and leadership, the campers must share in the care of every bunk. A counselor should be able to guide and supervise, and must be enthusiastic, patient, and self-controlled. A sense of humor is essential.

 What You Can Expect

To have fun making lifelong friends from all over the country
To enjoy the beautiful outdoors (yes, you will get dirty and sweat a little)
To laugh a lot, many times at yourself
To learn from your campers and peers
To be surprised at what you are capable of
To be a celebrity…even if it is only in the eyes of one camper
To not want to leave

Job Requirements
Great Attitude

Our staff are paid well and benefits include room, board, and staff uniforms.
