To guide counselors-in-training throughout experience in accordance with standards set by GSUSA, ACA, and the New York State Health Department and to direct and supervise the work of the CIT staff.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instructs CITs according to the CIT curriculum which will facilitate development of skills in camping activities, outdoor living and leadership necessary to work effectively with children and will increase their understanding of children, camping and Girl Scout program, philosophy and objectives.
- Supervises supports and evaluates CITs in partnership with assigned unit and program staff.
- Coordinates CIT unit activities with those of the entire camp.
- Assumes responsibility for health and safety of the CITs:
- maintains a well-equipped first aid kit;
- reports accidents promptly;
- Keep nurse informed of health status of campers and unit staff.
- Serves as waterfront guard or watcher if needed, for her unit.
- Keeps records and makes reports as directed by Camp Director/Assistant Camp Director.
