Head Counselors are the designated leadership staff member of each cabin. A Head Counselor is responsible for the campers and staff within an assigned cabin and a specific chalet group in that cabin as well. Head Counselors can expect to be responsible for the same cabin group for 2-4 weeks. Head Counselor oversees the overall supervision and care of the campers and staff in the cabin. Head Counselors are also typically expected to take on a leadership role within their division, while also completing the basic duties of a General Counselor, including correspondence with parents, enforcing safety rules, leading events, teaching activities, monitoring campers in the dining hall, equipment & supply care, knowledge of emergency procedures, record keeping, and ensuring that the campers in your cabin have the greatest summer of their lives!
