Job Description

Our Leadership Team is responsible for staff supervision, program development and implementation building on social cognition and frustration tolerance research. Our Director spoke twice at the World Gifted Conference about what we accomplish here! We seek highly motivated college graduates with expertise in counseling, social work, education and/or child development. Many members of our leadership team hold or are pursuing advanced degrees.

 

Work with kids without standardized tests. See the impact of your craft on the lives of kids in our immersive environment. Sharpen your saw in a fun, dynamic, cross-curricular community filled with motivated children and exceptional staff. One of our staff will leave the summer with a free cruise! Could it be you? Our VERY BEST staff are invited for an end-of-season excursion to HAWAII (free travel) with the Founding Director of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Institute. We are looking for teachers, social workers and experienced souls with a heart for making a positive difference in the lives of kids.

Camp Sequoia believes that the best outcomes happen when we hire the best staff. The majority of our key leadership staff have been with the program for 5+ years. We are proximal to the Appalachian Trail and within public transit of Boston, NYC, Philly, Baltimore and DC. With 36 hour "super-days" off, staff can enjoy a wide variety of options. Or, they can enjoy downtime in their room and smell the baking chocolate wafting through the air from the local chocolate factory.

All leadership team members receive free Certification in Crisis Prevention, travel allowances and ample summer program budgets to provide a unique and meaningful experience for our campers. Leadership roles are “all-in” propositions during the six weeks that campers are in residence and the positive camper and staff experience should be viewed as top priorities.

Salary range includes weekly performance benchmarks, which, when realized, yield an impressive seasonal compensation opportunity. In addition to base salary, these positions are bonus eligible at the end of the season. Job Requirements


  • The ideal candidate will hold or be pursuing a degree (advanced preferred) in psychology, social work, human services, education or a related field

  • Experience with children in a residential setting as well as personal camp experience is highly preferred.

  • Integrity, patience, flexibility
