Aurora Day Camp - Unit Head Position
Aurora Day Camp, for children ages 3 ½ - 16, is the only dedicated full summer day camp in the world for children with cancer and their siblings. Located in Atlanta, GA it is a camp designed to meet the emotional, social, recreational and physical needs of these children while allowing them to enjoy the comforts and safety of their own homes at night.
There are sleepaway camps that provide a great experience during the summer months, but Aurora Day Camp offers benefits that a resident camp cannot. Aurora Day Camp will provide a true camping experience while the children remain within their own familiar surroundings. Most pediatric oncology medical sleep away camps last only one to two weeks. Aurora Day Camp offers a 6- week camping experience.
Best of all, Aurora Day Camp is offered free of charge to all children being treated for cancer and their siblings on a non-sectarian basis. Children who have received medical clearance from their physicians are welcome to attend. Though 6-weeks of camp programming is offered, children may register and attend any and every day they feel well enough to do so.

Unit Heads are expected to be at camp for morning meetings as early as 7 AM, and are expected to stay at camp as late as 4:30 PM. There is typically a brief level of work needed some nights after camp as well.
