Summer Camp Nurses Needed!
We are looking for Summer Camp Nurses to cover our Health Center and join in the camp fun for the 2024 Season. We hire nurses for either 4 weeks or 7 1/2 weeks. The dates for the upcoming summer are:
- First Session June 19th- July 25th
- Second Session July 26th – August 19th
- Both Sessions June 19th – August 19th
We hire both RN’s and LPN’s and families are accommodated. We pay top salaries and compensation is dependent upon license, length of stay and if Health Center Staff children are enrolled in the program.
For our NY State Camps:
All RN’s and LPN’s must be NY State Licensed Nurses and we reimburse our Health Center staff reciprocity fees spent to obtain a NY State License, if they do not already possess one.

Our Camp:
Timber Lake West is a co-ed summer camp that offers all the fun, activities of traditional summer camps! Our program fosters strong friendships through our athletics and aquatics programs, builds character through our STARFISH values program and also offers each camper the opportunity to tailor their schedule through our elective program. Timber Lake West is nestled in New York’s picturesque Catskill Mountains. Our camp is about two hours north of New York City and three hours from Philadelphia. We are a co-ed camp with no religious affiliation and our campers primarily hail from the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) as well as Florida.
Our commitment is to provide the highest level of service and excellence in the camping profession. Constantly innovating and moving forward, our facilities, program and staff development are second to none.
Our Camper Population:
Our campers are ages 8-16 and we basically cater to a healthy, mainstream population. However we have some camper with specific medical issues, such as: asthma, diabetes and a variety of allergies (food, environmental, etc.). We are a peanut aware facility, meaning we do not guarantee that our food supply comes from a nut free factory and there are no nuts in the products we serve. We have a special needs cook, on staff who works with our gluten free campers and staff and other members of our community with other food allergies.
Our Medical Staff and First Responders:
We have one doctor and 4-5 nurses on staff. Additionally, we have over 30 staff members who are certified in First Aid/Responding to Emergencies, CPR and AED. The closest hospital is approximately 25 minutes away.
Our Health Center and Duties of Our Nurses:
Our Health Center must always be covered by either our Camp Doctor or Camp Nurse. We need the entire Health Center Team on duty in the morning for medication distribution and at the Health Center for Sick Call and again in the evening after Evening Activity. We have Sick Call after breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening activity and need coverage for these times, as well. We always have one staff member on call at night. The Camp Nurses and Camp Doctor work together to create a schedule that both covers the Health Center and allows for time off. All Camp Staff are entitled to six days off during the full season.
Camp Life:
The weather is great, with low humidity and temperatures during the day in the high 70’s – low 80’s and at night in the mid 50’s – mid 70’s! Our Health Center Team lives in the Health Center or directly above and has their own private room with their own private bathroom. Camp has cell service and our adult staff has access to Wi-Fi. We encourage our staff to be active participants in Camp Life, attend All Camp evening activities and be as much a part of Camp, as possible. Job Type: Contract
Pay: $1500 per week depending on experience
